Dean Higson (albertan)  > Boats > 2005 Lund 1800 Fisherman For Sale
I just pulled the boat out of its winter storage so I will be adding/upgrading pictures regularly until the boat sells. This was originally a Demo held by Lund's Western Canadian Rep back in 2005. It was used once in Pigeon Lake during the Summer of 2005. I purchased the boat on the Labor Day long weekend in September 2005 with around an hour on the main motor. I will confirm with pictures of the SmartCraft gauges that the main motor currently has just under 30 hours on it. The kicker, which is actually a 2006, has been used maybe an hour each of the past three years...just enough to have to winterize it again each Fall. I upgraded the trailer when I bought it as I didn't think the single axle would pull as nice as I like. It pulls like a dream now with the tandem axles, 14" wheel/tire upgrade, and the surge brakes.

I have all of the paperwork for this boat since I am the original owner. I'll include scans of the paperwork later. But for now, here is a breakdown of the cost of the boat...

2005 Lund Fisherman with outboards and trailer as described in pictures..........................................................$50,712.65
Boat Defender Stone Guard for trailer......................................................................................................................$508.25
Spare Tire/Rim & Holder...........................................................................................................................................$197.95
Roswell Area 51 Wakeboard Tower........................................................................................................................$2,354.00
4th Lund seat with base & swivel...............................................................................................................................$312.00
Minn Kota PowerDrive AutoPilot (60" shaft & 80 lbs. thrust) and two Interstate deep cycle batteries......................$2031.93
Lowrance LMS-339c DF iGPS................................................................................................................................$1100.00
(5)Upgraded 14" Aluminum Wheel & Tire package................................................................................................. $893.58

TOTAL.................................................................................................................................................................$58,110.36

I talked to Rainbow Marine (Lund Dealership in Edmonton) and Northgate Honda (Lund Dealership in Grande Prairie) this week. The 1800 Fisherman and 1850 Tyee are very similar hulls. I priced a 2009 Lund 1850 Tyee with a 175 Verado since the new 1850 Fishermans are only rated for 150HP. Rainbow quoted me a price of $49,750 GST ($52,237.50) for the Tyee and main outboard only with a single axle trailer. Northgate has a 2008 Lund 1850 Tyee with a 150 Verado selling for $43,850 GST ($45,937.50), and told me once its gone a new 2009 Tyee with the 175 would cost $53,000 GST. So....you can start building my boat at $52,000....add another $4,000 or so for the trailer upgrade and ProKicker....then add on the other options shown above. Or you can buy this boat that would still pass for a dealer demo with next to no miles for almost half the price. Tough choice in my opinion. By the way, my boat came with features like Mercury SmartCraft guages, dual Captain's chairs, snap in carpetted flooring, and more standard. Better add another $5,000 for options/upgrades on this boat that I haven't even detailed above but you would be charged for on a new boat. Maybe mine is less than half the price of a new boat after all. Maybe I am not asking enough...

Most everything should be documented here in pictures. Most pictures will have some notes beneath them. Click on a picture for more detail...each is huge. If you want to see a picture of something else on the boat or have any questions please feel free to contact me at home at (780)513-2678 or on my cell (780)518-6262. The price should be listed wherever you found the link to get here. I am asking $35,000 CDN, and unlike a dealer I don't charge taxes. Cheers.

Dean Higson (albertan) > Minutes after being pulled out of winter storage in my back yard and untarped. Notice the trailer sets the boat quite far back from the tow vehicle. I can launch this boat anywhere I have been without even putting the tow vehicles rear wheels in the water. It's also almost impossible to jack knife this unit should you have a driver with less experience trying to back it up.
Dean Higson (albertan) > Just the boat. A little dusty after its winter slumber. But otherwise looking like new.
Dean Higson (albertan) > Just a picture in the shade. Mmmmmmm......shiny aluminum wheels. I still have the original steel wheels too if someone reminds me to dig them out of storage.

Dean Higson (albertan) > Nice reflection. It would look better if the sun were out more. I waxed the hull above the waterline regularly.
Dean Higson (albertan) > You can see the tie bar linking the kicker to the main outboard. Once I post the interior pictures you will see that the kicker has its own controls at the driver's seat so you can troll while watching the console electronics. You can also start and tilt the kicker from the drivers seat. That cost alot compared to just a tiller handled kicker you have to bend over and haul out of the water, but it sure is handy with a boatload of people.
Dean Higson (albertan) > Rainbow Marine tried to tell me I didn't need a tandem axle trailer. They (and everyone else) sell these boats with a single axle trailer to keep the cost down. Do you want to try to control a few thousand pounds swinging back and forth on a puny 13" tire at 110 km/h after the first one blows on the highway? Neither did I. So I had to *insist* that they switch trailers for me. Again I paid dearly to swap trailers, but I thought I was keeping this boat for a long time (I never learn) so I rigged it the way I wanted it. Also notice that this is a fully galvanized trailer. Another costly upgrade, but nothing is going to rust on this trailer once you get a few rock chips in the paint. You can take this boat out to the West Coast and dunk it in the Pacific without too many concerns.
Dean Higson (albertan) > Ever tow a trailer and spend half your time fiddling with the brake controller in the vehicle trying to get it set just right? Ugh I hate that. So I purchased this trailer with surge brakes. If you're not familiar with how these trailer brakes work Google them. basically they are fully automatic. You won't even need to install a brake controller to pull this boat.
Dean Higson (albertan) > The trailer came with 13" tires. You'll see in the next picture that I upgraded to better-looking 14 wheels/tires, which also happen to pull better. Did I mention how nice this rig pulls?
